First Intervention Team can step in and provide a complete shutdown service to meet your business’ requirements. This includes the confined space management of multiple entries, confined space registers and detailed procedures. In addition, we can provide confined space rescue teams on standby along with vessel entry controllers (Hole Watchers).
Our team of business, safety and rescue professionals are able to help you plan your shutdown. We understand that any plant shutdown for servicing, maintenance and emergency repairs costs your business valuable operating time and depending on the plant being shut down, this can impact all production across the business.
We can help you plan your shutdowns as efficiently as possible by identifying the impact that shutting down the equipment will have on your business. For example, it can be beneficial to conduct all of your servicing and maintenance tasks during the shutdown of a key piece of equipment rather than spreading this over the year. There can also be benefits of conducting shutdowns during public holidays. These include reduced staff idle time as they won’t be on-site waiting for plant to restart as well as limiting the disruption to your clients.
You can rely on FIT to support your shutdown and maintenance procedures. We have achieved ISO 45001 in health and safety and ISO 14001 in Environmental Management Systems and we are also an Environment Agency regulated waste carrier. Alongside these standards we are also members of the SafeContractor and Achilles UVDB, having achieved the Silver Plus Membership.
We have a wide range of equipment for hire that can help to increase the efficiency and safety of your plant shutdown. Our range of equipment includes:
We can also provide a range of fully trained rescue teams including confined space rescue teams, rope rescue teams and vessel entry controllers (hole watchers).
Our rescue teams are highly qualified and have passed a range of qualifications approved by City and Guilds, FAIB and ECITB.
The entry control unit which is an integral part of our safety team, includes a fully equipped first aid post with a detailed confined space entrant control board and the necessary casualty assessment forms and detailed movement and safety equipment logs which are important to ensure effective safety management in confined spaces.
