First Intervention Team Rescue Services

For over 20 years we’ve been market leaders in providing specialist rescue teams nationwide for a variety of industries working in high risk environments. During this time our workforce has grown, and we are very proud to currently employ over 70 rescue team technicians. 

Our team formations can be adapted to suit any high risk project, nationwide. We’ve  successfully completed thousands of high risk projects, taking on the knowledge and experience gained from each sector and implement this into our training to continually improve our skills.

Confined Space Rescue Support

All of our confined space rescue teams are highly trained in this field and can offer a range of qualifications, listed below. Our confined space rescue team members principal role is fire and rescue so the team are refreshed and kept up to date with HSE legislation and guidelines.

Our standby teams are ready to deploy when you need them, whether to oversee a shutdown or provide critical response to an emergency need.

Rescue Services Summaries

Confined Space Rescue

All of our F.I.T rescue personnel are current or previously serving front line emergency service professionals from all sectors that have a wealth of knowledge and experience in high pressure, life threatening situations.

We are privileged to include within our personnel, members of the International Search & Rescue teams that have attended various worldwide deployments including Iran, Indonesia, New Zealand, Haiti and Nepal.

Our team formation can be adapted to suit any project. However, our most common is a three person team consisting of three emergency service professionals – an officer in charge and two BA entry operatives.

Rope Rescue

FIT can provide bespoke rope rescue teams to facilitate emergency access and retrieval from the most difficult and high risk environments. We offer our clients support and advise throughout the task, our management team will visit you site prior to project commencement date and provide a site specific working at height management plan, detailed rope rescue procedure and a full set of risk and method statements. Our teams are trained to the highest levels and FIT ensures our Rope Rescue teams are deployed with Quality equipment such as PETZL and LEAF.

Fire Crew Standby

All our Rescue technicians are multi-skilled within the fire and rescue industry and we have two fully equipped fire appliances ready to be deployed to cover high risk projects and events. Our fire crews have completed hundreds of projects over the last 20 years and gained knowledge and experience supporting high-risk projects, fire system impairment cover, flood response, royal visits, large sporting events, TV and film studio stand-by and family fun days.

Our fire crews can be adapted dependant on level of cover required, a minimum team formation of four to include an Officer-in-Charge, pump operator and two BA (breathing apparatus) search and rescue fire fighters. For more specialist projects we are able to provide up to two fully equipped appliances with six crew members per appliance.


Vessel Entry Controllers (Hole Watches)

First Intervention Team has the manpower to provide a large workforce all trained in the duties of a vessel entry controller and top man duties.

All our personnel have received in-house training in the standards and procedures laid down by you, the client and ourselves. We have provided this service to many of our clients during special projects, all of which have been successful.

First Intervention Team prides itself on our workforce and understands the importance of this role and will always ensure that our staff are trained to a high standard and can offer a service many contractors cannot. For example, our personnel will be trained fire fighters and experienced first aiders which we, as a company, feel is a necessity to provide this service professionally.

Shutdown Support Services

FIT can provide complete shutdown services to include confined space management of multiple entries, confined space registers and procedures. First Intervention can provide operations confined space rescue teams, vessel entry controllers (Hole Watchers) with an entry control unit which will include a fully equipped first aid post, a detailed confined space entrant control board, casualty assessment forms and a detailed log of all movements in and around the confined spaces. FIT can supply, maintain and log all safety equipment via an onsite issue counter.
