First Intervention offer Levels 1, 2 and 3 Mental Health in the Workplace which is an awareness course aimed at helping employees and managers identify symptoms early and provide the correct level of intervention and care.

Mental health is an increasingly prominent issue in organisations around the world, with a recognition that poor mental health can negatively impact on our health, wellbeing and productivity. This course will provide you with an introduction to the concept of mental illness, the signs and symptoms of the most common mental illnesses and how mental distress can be successfully managed.

The Mental Health Awareness Courses have three levels depending on your interest and role. Each course is ran with professional guidance from highly qualified and experienced instructors and increasing levels of knowledge and detailed approaches for committing to a Mental Health Plan in the workplace. LEVEL ONE: The Mental Health Awareness in the Workplace

The Mental Health Awareness in the Workplace (Level 1) is an entry-level course for mental health awareness in the workplace.

This training course aims to build understanding among colleagues and create a more positive and open climate around mental health. It is an introduction to the issue of mental health in the workplace, with the aim of providing learners with basic skills to identify and address problems. Successful candidates will be able to identify suspected mental health conditions and will have developed the skills to start conversations and signpost colleagues towards professional help.

Who should take this course?

The Mental Health Awareness in the Workplace (Level 1) is aimed at any delegate interested in raising their own understanding of mental health issues.

LEVEL TWO: The Mental Health Awareness in the Workplace

The Mental Health Awareness in the Workplace (Level 2) is an intermediate course for individuals with health & safety responsibilities in the workplace. This course covers the same topics as Level 1 but also focuses on behavioural and cultural changes in the workplace while expanding on the First Aid for Mental Health Plan Framework and addressing the underlying causes of poor mental health in the workplace.

Compared to Level 1, the second course provides more detail and a more action-oriented approach as it is designed to empower individuals to identify more complex mental health issues.

LEVEL THREE: The Mental Health Awareness in the Workplace

The Mental Health Awareness in the Workplace (Level 3) is an advanced course for mental health awareness in the workplace.

While covering everything in the Level 1 and Level 2 courses, this course expands its focus to a wider range of mental health conditions and potential treatments.
